Notice to Members – 115th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, the 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM), originally scheduled for March 19-20, 2020 at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver, will instead be held at the office of the Association of BC Land Surveyors at #301-2400 Bevan Avenue, Sidney BC V8L 1W1 beginning at 9:00 am on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.
If you have not yet submitted your ballot for the Board election, please do so now by way of postal mail. All ballots for the Board election must be delivered to the ABCLS office before the closing of the ballot box at the start of the AGM.
Except for appointed scrutineers who will attend the ABCLS office to open and count the ballots, members are asked to attend the AGM remotely. Instructions for connecting to the online meeting will be provided at a future date.
The Board has decided that debate cannot be properly facilitated in an online format and will not be introducing resolutions. Accordingly, the 2020 AGM will proceed according to the following simplified agenda:
- Call to Order
- Close the ballot box
- Protocols for the 115th AGM
- Treasurer’s Report
- President’s Report
- CAO’s Report
- Registrar’s Report
- Surveyor General’s Report
- Practice Advisory Manager’s Report
- Present 2020 Budget
- Announce Board Election Results
The estimated meeting time is approximately 2 hours.
Members who were to receive awards at the 2020 awards lunch in Vancouver will be announced in a future notice.
