Career Path to Becoming a Land Surveyor
Becoming a commisioned BC Land Surveyor can happen through four different ways. Each path has various steps and certifications that need to be acquired.

- Degree in Geomatics Engineering
- Diploma in Geomatics Engineering
- Qualified Land Surveyor from any Jurisdiction Outside of Canada
- Land Surveyors from a Province in Canada or Canada Lands Surveyors
An Additional Route to Becoming a Professional Land Surveyor
Graduates of programs other than geomatics engineering programs are eligible to apply for Survey Student status and to apply to CBEPS to have their educational credentials reviewed to determine appropriate exams to write to obtain a C of C.
