Exams Audio-Visual and Text Resources For Loan
The ABCLS Foundation Library is offering the resources listed in the attached for loan to members of the Association. If you are interested in borrowing any of those listed, please contact the Association office at office@abcls.ca or phone 250-655-7222. Due to high demand, there is a two week borrowing time.
Policy for approval of seminars/presentations/courses
Call for Presenters
Are you an expert in your field who would like to contribute to the future of land surveying? The CPD Committee is actively seeking members to present on a variety of topics. Please contact us with details through the ABCLS office: office@abcls.ca or talk with any CPD member.
Ideas for Seminars
If you or your committee have an idea for a seminar that you would like to put on, and need some assistance, send an email to the CPD Committee via the ABCLS office with details about the course and/or instructor.
Policy for approval of seminars
To be approved for funding by the CPD Committee a seminar must:
- Fit under the current Terms of Reference for the CPD Committee
- Be approved by the CPD Committee
In addition,
- There must be sufficient funds in the CPD budget to pay all seminar expenses
- An agreed upon minimum number of participants must be registered in advance, or the course will be cancelled.

Searching for Survey Evidence DVD
In the 1980′s Jon Magwood, BCLS created a video (VHS) titled “Searching for Survey Evidence”. It has been converted to DVD format. This 26 minute DVD provides a detailed and methodical look at various types of evidence that can be found throughout the province. He also touches upon the research methods used 20+ years ago, before GIS and typical CAD software that we use today.
